Fit With Bucks

C.J. Miles would be an ideal backup wing for the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s capable of switching defensively through many positions, making him perfect for the position-less basketball the Bucks can, and should, play.

His shooting stroke means he’ll help create even more space for Giannis Antetokounmpo and eventually Jabari Parker, which is always a good thing.

His willingness to play out of position to accommodate Paul George shows he’s got the team on his mind, which is always a plus as well. Every team could use another veteran who is going to stay in his lane while making the team better.

Unfortunately, it would be surprising if Milwaukee had the funds to afford Miles. If Tony Snell and Greg Monroe both left, the Bucks would still have roughly $90 million on their cap, leaving $14 million to fill out the roster.

Miles could be added in that situation, but it’s doubtful the Bucks would make him a priority with their remaining money, and the Pacers seem to have the inside track at retaining him. Anything could change, this is the NBA after all, but smart money says C.J. Miles will not be a Buck next season.
