NBA Free Agency 2017 Player Profile: Luc Mbah a Moute

Fit With Bucks
As previously mentioned, much of Mbah a Moute’s fit with the Milwaukee Bucks depends on how badly he wants to start games in 2017-18. He’s been a starter for most of his career, and if he wishes to continue that trend the Bucks is not the team for him.

If that’s not as important to Mbah a Moute, though, Milwaukee actually offers a pretty decent fit. The Bucks are not stacked with long wings who can play defense coming off of the bench–Mirza Teletovic is a minus defender, Michael Beasley might be out of the door, and Tony Snell (if he returns) and Khris Middleton will both start the year as starters.
That leaves a great big, Mbah a Moute-sized hole in Milwaukee’s depth chart. If the lengthy forward is available for veteran minimum and has interest in returning to the team that drafted him, this could be a nice low-key signing for the Bucks.
Not every key free agent signing is a high-profile guy like Greg Monroe. Jason Terry had a massive impact on the Bucks 2016-17 season, and he was a late signing and not one that had Milwaukee jumping for joy initially.

Mbah a Moute might not provide the energy that JET does, but he could help the Bucks win, and he projects to be available and at the right price for Milwaukee to make a reasonable offer.
