The Milwaukee Bucks disappointed in an opening Summer League loss, but what were the key takeaways from Friday’s action?
For those who were excited for the return of Milwaukee Bucks basketball, Friday’s Summer League opener acted as a significant let-down.
Although there were some brief flashes of positive play from the young Bucks in Las Vegas, Milwaukee’s team, coached by assistant coach Josh Broghamer, were comprehensively beaten by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
After a positive start, Milwaukee’s offense came to a grinding halt and never really got going again until midway through the third quarter.

That third quarter rally briefly saw the Bucks charge back within 10 points of their opponents, but it wouldn’t last as they slipped back just as quickly.
The format of the Las Vegas Summer League means the loss is far from terminal for the Bucks’ tournament hopes, as the first three games effectively act as warm-ups for the seeded bracket that gets underway with each team’s fourth game.
