As details continue to emerge in regard to the NBA’s Nike uniforms for next season, the Milwaukee Bucks will reportedly be one of eight teams with a classic uniform in 2017-18.

While the wait continues to see exactly what the Milwaukee Bucks’ uniforms will look like in 2017-18 with the league’s switch to Nike as its official manufacturer, there are some interesting uniform details that have emerged.

According to a report from Conrad Burry on SportsLogos.net, the Bucks will be among the eight teams who will get to wear throwback, or “Classic”, uniforms in the first year of the new Nike deal.

As Burry explained, this means the Bucks will have five different uniform options next season.

"“Next season in the NBA, eight teams will wear throwback uniforms, notified as “Classics” by the official Nike denotation. Each team in the NBA will have a set of four uniforms to choose from, and the eight teams with classic uniforms will have a fifth uniform option.”"

The report puts the Bucks alongside the Hawks, Hornets, Warriors, Pacers, Lakers, Heat and Suns, as the lucky eight teams to begin with.

Although Burry doesn’t have the details on whether Milwaukee’s “Classic” uniform will be a home or road, he reports that it will be one of the two uniforms which the team wore between 1968-1973.

Considering the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Bucks as a franchise is fast approaching, it’s not particularly surprising that they would opt to return to one of their original uniforms as a part of this year’s anniversary celebrations.

Of course, they were also the uniforms worn by the Bucks when they clinched their one and only championship by beating the Washington Bullets in four games in 1971.

With the Bucks scheduled to return to their former home of the MECCA for a one-off game in the regular season, it’ll be fitting to see Milwaukee suit up in one of their most iconic jerseys once again.

The questions that now remain are whether the Bucks opt for the home or road option, and then how soon they’ll unveil the “Classic” and the rest of their new jerseys to the world.
