After a career year last season, Tony Snell is ready to help the Milwaukee Bucks back to the playoffs this coming 2017-18 season.

Even to the untrained eye, Tony Snell had a career year in 2016-17. He set a career high in scoring, rebounds, assists and steals per game, while shooting over 40 percent from three, which was also a career high.

But look a little deeper and Snell actually had a historic year with the Milwaukee Bucks. Snell knocked down 144 threes last year, the 10th highest in franchise history and most since Brandon Jennings in 2012-13. With such a high volume of Snell’s scoring coming from three-point land, he also led the side with a true shooting percentage of 60.3 percent, equal for eighth best in franchise history.

Snell was brought to Milwaukee in the trade that sent Michael Carter-Williams to Chicago. After a slow start to the season, Snell well and truly proved his worth to the side, highlighted by his elite level of play in the playoffs. During Milwaukee’s six match series against the Toronto Raptors, Snell averaged 10 points per game, while shooting an incredible 51.6 percent from distance.

As such, Snell was awarded with a four-year, $46 million deal by the Bucks, on the opening day of free agency. In this day and age, where “three-and-D” players are so crucial to success, Snell epitomizes the modern day role player. While certainly not a superstar, he was given a job to do, and he performed it at an elite level.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at what Snell can bring to the Bucks this season, what his role could be and if another historical season is likely.
