In their regular season opener, the Milwaukee Bucks prevailed over the Boston Celtics, winning 108-100. With that, we take a look at who and what stood out in the team’s gutsy victory.

A new regular season is upon us and the Milwaukee Bucks celebrated in style as they battled and triumphed over the Boston Celtics Wednesday night, beating them 108-100.

With the Celtics on the back end of a back-to-back as well as putting in an hard fought performance in the wake of losing their big free agent acquisition Gordon Hayward to injury, the opportunity was there for the Bucks to spoil their home opener.

While the Bucks had a very promising start to the game, early foul trouble from Giannis Antetokounmpo put things in jeopardy midway through the first quarter.

However, the Bucks hung with the Celtics’ every move, practically matching them with every basket by having key contributors hold down the fort without their star player on the court.

When Antetokunmpo made his return to the game in the second quarter, the Bucks made their first strong push of the night by eventually surpassing the Celtics late in the period and leading them 58-53 heading into halftime.

But a sluggish start to the second half ensued and a malaise set in for the Bucks as they committed a string of turnovers. The Celtics played it to their advantage by recapturing the lead.

The Bucks made sure to keep it as close as they could though, by digging in and putting a stop to any possible run the Celtics were looking to pull off at the start of the fourth. That eventually went to the Bucks’ favor as they reclaimed the lead at the 6:11 mark of the period and never relinquished it from that point on.

So without further ado, let’s take a deeper look at what made the Bucks’ win what it was and who made the positive contributions on the night.
