Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 96-89 loss to Boston Celtics

The Milwaukee Bucks came up short against the Boston Celtics in the much anticipated return to the MECCA. Let’s take a look at several key factors that stood out in the disappointing loss.

After nearly three decades away, the Milwaukee Bucks made their long-awaited return to the MECCA on Thursday night.

Unfortunately for the fans and this Bucks team, it did not go the way they had hoped.

The game was relatively close throughout. The Boston Celtics jumped out to an early lead which they were able to keep for the majority of the first half. After a run late in the second quarter, the Bucks were able to grab the lead back for most of the third quarter, only to watch the Celtics eventually pull away.

The loss was very similar to many that Bucks fans witnessed throughout last season. Giannis scored 28, nearly recorded a triple-double, however, only four Bucks were able to break double-digit with no one besides Giannis able to punch in more than 15.

The Celtics are a good team, no one should be shell-shocked or overly critical of a loss. Nevertheless, it was troubling to see the team lose due to the same issues that have plagued them in recent seasons.
