Despite a career night for Khris Middleton, the Milwaukee Bucks fell back to .500 with their loss to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. We take a look at what led to the loss.

The Milwaukee Bucks lost a shootout to the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, losing 126-121.

Following their bland performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder the previous night, the Bucks made a quick turnaround to Charlotte to take on the Hornets. With a change in the starting lineup, the Bucks took to the court looking more inspired and quickly grabbed a hold of the lead in the opening minutes of the game.

But after a slow start, the Hornets regrouped midway through the first quarter, offering the Bucks more resistance after their sluggish start.

It wasn’t until midway through the second period where things took a turn for the Bucks with Giannis Antetokounmpo getting into foul trouble and the Hornets subsequently stormed back to capture the lead going into halftime.

With both teams having caught fire as they did during the first half, one would assume that the game would have been decided by which ever team fell off in their effectiveness shooting the ball.

Yet neither the Bucks nor the Hornets cooled off significantly and it led to a back and forth affair for much of the third quarter.

Heading into the fourth tied at 88, the Bucks quickly fell behind with Malik Monk going off on a scoring tear to start the period. Facing an uphill battle, the Bucks were led by a valiant effort from Khris Middleton, who went off in the waning minutes of the game before they ultimately fell short to the Hornets.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at what stood out for the Bucks in their loss to the Hornets, both the good and the bad.
