Concerning takeaway

As it has been the case for the majority of their season so far, the Herd’s penchant for committing turnovers reared its ugly head again last night against the Bulls.

In total, the Herd committed 19 total turnovers, which was actually six less than the Bulls coughed up on the night.

However, where the problem lay was the timing of when the Herd struggled to take care of the ball. In the fourth quarter alone, the Herd committed six turnovers, some of which were simply unforced errors.

While that wasn’t down the stretch when the game truly hung in the balance, the Herd were noticeably lacking a stabilizing presence on the ball to lean on against the Bulls. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since last night was the first of the few games they’ll be without Xavier Munford, who’s away on Team USA duties.

Of course, that’s the nature of the beast when you’re in the G League as you have to roll with all the punches that come your way. Nonetheless, it will be interesting if the Herd can curb this problem when facing similar pressure late during their upcoming slate of games.
