The Wisconsin Herd’s hot start keeps simmering as they conquered the Delaware 87ers on Tuesday night to earn their third straight victory and sixth win on the year.

The Wisconsin Herd’s start to their inaugural season keeps on climbing to new heights as they beat the Delaware 87ers on Tuesday night in a wire-to-wire victory, winning 119-111.

The Herd came out firing to start the game as they went on a 13-2 run in the opening five minutes of the contest before the 87ers called a timeout to regroup. While the 87ers were able to gain some ground, thanks to the Herd falling back down to Earth a bit, the expansion side had the upper hand by holding a 27-20 lead at the end of the first period.

But the Herd regained that fire a few minutes into the second quarter, specifically when James Young set foot back on the court as he scored 19 points in the period (as well as not missing a shot during that time) and helped build the lead up to 63-41 entering halftime.

The third quarter got off to an unusual start, thanks to a brief skirmish between Furkan Korkmaz and Shannon Brown, which saw Brown get ejected after getting hit with a flagrant foul as a result.

While the 87ers were able to use that as a bit of a spark, it still wasn’t much to derail the Herd’s sizable lead throughout the period.

Leading by 13 entering the fourth quarter, the 87ers were finally able to reel off the big run they needed by getting their deficit down to single digits for the first time since the start of the second quarter.

But as they have for much of the season, the Herd dug in and withstood the 87ers’ pressure by hitting timely shots and getting the ball to key figures down the stretch to ensure their victory and to keep the good times rolling for yet another game.
