The Wisconsin Herd suffered a rare loss as they fell short to the Lakeland Magic on Saturday night.

The four-game winning streak for the Wisconsin Herd is no more as they fell to the Lakeland Magic on Saturday night, losing 109-104.

The Herd got off to a slower start by their standards as they were held to single digits in scoring until the 3:23 mark of the first period. Despite getting to the free throw line a handful of times to bring down their deficit, they still trailed the Magic 22-20 at the end of the opening quarter.

In the second quarter, the Herd started to find their groove offensively as they eventually grabbed a hold of the lead, albeit a one-score lead at best.

But the Magic didn’t fall back by any means and they were able to keep pace with the Herd, which led to them retaking the lead heading into halftime.

Coming out of halftime, the Herd struggled to find a stable rhythm offensively, one that could have been worthy enough to reclaim the lead from the Magic.

That only continued throughout the third period as turnovers held the Herd back from truly breaking through, despite making a strong push at one point in time.

It was largely the same story in the fourth quarter as the Magic pulled ahead and led by as much as 14 midway through the final period.

While the Herd didn’t give in over the final few minutes and were able to bring their deficit down to three, thanks to a strong push over the final ticks, they ultimately couldn’t overcome it and were handed just their second loss of the season by the Magic.
