Wisconsin Herd fall to high flying Fort Wayne Mad Ants, lose 127-122
By Adam McGee
The Wisconsin Herd suffered a rare loss as they fell short to the Lakeland Magic on Saturday night.
The Wisconsin Herd lost consecutive games for the first time in their history on Tuesday night, as the Fort Wayne Mad Ants managed to leave Milwaukee with a win.
In front of a near empty Bradley Center in the Herd’s final game behind closed doors before moving to their new arena, the teams matched up in a battle of two of the Eastern Conference’s best teams.
Having lost their season opener, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants have since rolled off eight straight wins and have been buoyed by a home-heavy schedule.

On Tuesday, the Mad Ants demonstrated the kind of impressive play that has delivered them that record. Fort Wayne was able to call on a varied scoring effort to edge out the Herd in a game that was pretty close throughout.
The Herd got big scoring contributions, as expected, from Cliff Alexander (35), James Young (29) and Xavier Munford (24), but the Mad Ants were able to hit back equally hard with contributions from Ben Moore (28), Walter Lemon Jr. (27) and former Wisconsin Badger Jared Uthoff (27).
The Herd spent most of the game within striking range of the Mad Ants, but just could never get over the hump to take the lead due to the composed and professional play of their opponents.
With the loss, the Herd move to 6-3 on the season overall.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the most notable elements of their performance in this one, and what’s to come for them later in the week.
