The Wisconsin Herd got the better of the Iowa Wolves on Friday night as they finally got to play in their new arena in Oshkosh.
It was a special night in Oshkosh on Friday as the Wisconsin Herd opened up the Menominee Nation Arena with a win in front of an excited crowd in a packed-out building.
To mark the occasion, it wasn’t just dignitaries from the Bucks such as general manager Jon Horst who made the trip to Oshkosh, but also four of the players who had been with the NBA franchise on their recently completed West coast road trip.
2017 NBA Draft picks D.J. Wilson and Sterling Brown, joined two-way players Gary Payton II and Joel Bolomboy in making the trip to the Fox Valley area, meaning an already talented Herd team included even greater options for head coach Jordan Brady.

Having struggled to start the season, the Iowa Wolves, had an impressive start on Friday night, as a strong first half saw the Minnesota Timberwolves’ affiliate in an excellent position entering the interval.
The Herd sparked into life starting in the third quarter, though, as meaningful contributions from G League regulars and Bucks assignees alike helped to turn the tide.
By the time the final period came around, the Herd found a new gear that the Wolves clearly had no match for, and the inaugural crowd at the Menominee Nation Arena were given plenty to cheer about.
The Herd closed the game out in a professional manner for a 116-109 win, and moved to 7-3 on the season so far.
Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at some of the standout elements of their performance in this one, as well as what’s to come for the Herd later in the week.
