Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, the Wisconsin Herd couldn’t quite get past a defensively tough Long Island Nets team.

The Wisconsin Herd were always going to be facing a tough challenge on Saturday night, as the Long Island Nets provide a proposition that can’t be matched by most other teams in the G League.

With a less than dynamic offense, the Nets place a real emphasis on the defensive end of the ball, and have been very successful as a result.

Not only would the Herd have to get the better of a Nets team who are comfortably the G League’s best defensive team and the only team in the league that allows less than 100 points per 100 possessions, but they would have to do so at a significant rest disadvantage too.

With all of that considered, Jordan Brady could only have been extremely satisfied with the game started for his team.

The Herd looked sharp early on and managed to lead for most of the first half. The problem came when Wisconsin gave up the lead, though, as they were never quite able to get back over the hump again.

After a thrilling but draining win on Friday, the Herd couldn’t quite repeat the heroics of the previous night for another packed-out crowd in Oshkosh, even while paying tribute to the CBA’s Wisconsin Flyers with an eye-catching set of uniforms.

Let’s take a closer look at how the game played out.
