The Milwaukee Bucks couldn’t hold off the New Orleans Pelicans’ dominant big men as they lost an exciting game on the road on Wednesday night.
Milwaukee Bucks fans could have been forgiven for fearing the worst when news came through that Anthony Davis was healthy enough to join DeMarcus Cousins in the New Orleans’ frontcourt on Wednesday night.
With a quick start from John Henson and a red-hot first quarter for Milwaukee on the whole, a lot of those fears would have dissipated by the time the Bucks finished the first with a 37-32 lead, though.
Still dealing with a host of injuries to important role players, the Bucks bench at least showed up with a more productive showing than they have for quite some time too.

DeAndre Liggins wasn’t just attempting shots, but he was also knocking them down (3-of-4 on the night). Gary Payton II gave some positive contributions, although his minutes should have been curtailed more than they were. Joel Bolomboy and Rashad Vaughn were also on hand to make the most of their opportunities.
As the game progressed, the talent of Davis and Cousins shone through, though. Led by their star big men, the Pelicans weren’t to be denied, and some puzzling rotation issues for the Bucks certainly opened the door for them to pull out a win in the closing minutes.
As you’d expect with players of their quality, Davis and Cousins obliged on behalf of their team, guiding the Pelicans to a 115-108 win.
Let’s dive a little deeper into the game and take a look at some of the key takeaways.
