In their first game in this year’s G League Showcase, the Wisconsin Herd fell to the Texas Legends Wednesday evening, making for their first ever three-game losing streak.

Making the trip up north of the border, the Wisconsin Herd’s first ever appearance in the G League Showcase did not get off to a good start as they were beaten by the Texas Legends 124-113 Wednesday evening.

Showing out their skills in front of various officials from teams around the league, the Herd got off to a slow start as the Legends got out to an early lead to start the night, which continued for all of the first quarter.

Down 34-27 at the start of the second, the Herd started to close the gap midway through the period as Bucks two-way player Xavier Munford was starting to find his groove offensively.

With the undrafted 25-year-old leading the way, the Herd peeled off a 12-1 run in the quarter’s final two and a half a minutes to only trail by three heading into halftime.

As much as the Herd were able to maintain that pressure on the Legends in the early minutes of the second half, a severe scoring drought late in the frame led to the Legends to lead by as much as 18 entering the game’s final 12 minutes.

With plenty of work ahead to catch up on the Legends, the Herd were able to decrease their deficit and pull it back to within single digits midway through the fourth. However, the Legends kept chipping in enough baskets to keep their lead within their grasp comfortably, leaving the Herd with their first three-game losing streak of the season when it was all said and done.
