Putting in a miserable performance all around, the Milwaukee Bucks fell to the streaking Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon in their first meeting of the season.

An early start time did not do the Milwaukee Bucks any favors as they were outplayed by the Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon, losing 97-79.

Looking to get out and take control of the game early by using their pace and athleticism to their advantage, the Bucks got off to a fine start, considering the circumstances. But as they started to settle into a more leisurely pace and with the Heat shaking off some early rust after a three day layoff between games, the first quarter ended in a tightly contested fashion with the Bucks leading 23-21.

While the Heat were able to break through and take their first lead of the game early in the second, the Bucks put a stop to that by creating a run of their own and building their biggest lead (8) of the game midway through the period.

However, much like the end of the first, the Heat stormed back to rattle off a 8-2 run to trail 43-41 heading into the half. It was in the third quarter where the game swung completely in the Heat’s favor, thanks to a disastrous third quarter from the Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Malcolm Brogdon were the only Bucks to score in the third while the Heat turned on the jets and found success by knocking down shots from inside the paint throughout the frame and led 71-59 with 12 minutes left to go.

The Bucks followed that quarter up failing to make any headway in the fourth as the Heat put on the finishing touches to seal their seventh straight win and took the first game in their season series with the Bucks.

So without further ado, let’s dive deeper into what stood out in the Bucks’ loss to the Miami Heat Sunday afternoon.
