Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 109-105 win over Phoenix Suns
On a day when they made more headlines for what they did off the court, the Milwaukee Bucks took care of business on the court by edging out the Phoenix Suns on Monday night.
Already in the spotlight all throughout the day, the Milwaukee Bucks got the post-Jason Kidd era off to a rocking start as they took down the Phoenix Suns on Monday night, winning 106-101.
The Bucks came out of the gate sluggish, temporarily fueling the speculation that they were shellshocked following the day’s news about Kidd. But after quickly regrouping, the Bucks shook off their early rust and battled back to run out ahead of the Suns by the end of the first quarter, leading 30-26.
The second quarter played out a little differently as both the Bucks and the Suns virtually traded back and forth buckets throughout the period, leading to both teams being tied up at 53 going into halftime.

In the third, the Bucks quickly got out in front, although they couldn’t shake the Suns for much of the period. However, the Suns took advantage of the Bucks’ shakiness to close out the quarter and leapt out in front to lead 79-76 at the end of three.
But the Bucks strung together a run of their own at the beginning of the fourth and with reinforcements back on the floor midway through the frame, the Bucks started to separate themselves from the Suns and led by as much as seven at the 3:02 mark of the quarter.
The Suns, though, wouldn’t back down, in major part due to Troy Daniels finding his shot from deep as the game sank further into crunch time.
By putting their fate in Khris Middleton‘s hands in the final few moments of the game, the Bucks avoided catastrophe, though, and sealed what had been a crazy day by locking down a much-needed victory, their 24th of the season.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at what stood out in the Bucks’ win over the Phoenix Suns Monday night.
