With injuries significantly depleting their depth at the position, who are the point guards the Milwaukee Bucks should target for short-term cover at the trade deadline?
While Monday’s acquisition of Tyler Zeller solved a depth problem at center that had plagued the Milwaukee Bucks since the early stages of the season, recent events have opened up an additional area of concern for Joe Prunty’s team.
In the past seven days alone, Malcolm Brogdon suffered a partial tear of his left quadricep tendon that will rule him out for 6-8 weeks, while even more recently, Matthew Dellavedova suffered a Grade 3 ankle sprain that will sideline him for 3-4 weeks.
That leaves the Bucks with only Eric Bledsoe as a fully rostered, healthy point guard, and considering Bledsoe’s recent ankle injuries and more extensive history of injury, that isn’t necessarily enough to provide meaningful reassurance.

As a result, in spite of general guard cover from Jason Terry, Sean Kilpatrick and two-way player Xavier Munford, the Bucks may well be tempted to explore their options on the trade or buyout market once again.
If that does transpire in the form of Milwaukee making a trade for a backup point guard before the deadline passes on Thursday, who could be among the candidates to force Milwaukee’s hand?
Let’s take a look at some of the options that could fit Milwaukee’s need, while also working within their limited financial options.
