On the night of Dwyane Wade’s grand return, the Milwaukee Bucks weren’t able to play the part of spoiler on Friday night as they fell to the Miami Heat.

Despite their best effort late, the Milwaukee Bucks couldn’t upstage Dwyane Wade’s comeback to South Beach as they fell to the Miami Heat 91-85.

While all eyes were on the Heat in what was certainly an emotional night for the Miami faithful, the Bucks were the ones that came out of the gate looking to make the night theirs as they opened the game on a 9-0 run in the opening few minutes. The Heat, though, were able to regroup following a quick timeout at that point as they gradually caught up to the Bucks throughout the first quarter.

Leading 23-19 after one, it was almost as if roles reversed as the Bucks’ offensive productivity ground down to a halt, especially with Giannis Antetokounmpo struggling to dig himself out of his offensive rut.

But the Bucks were eventually able to battle back in the latter minutes of the period and led 46-42 heading into halftime.

The third quarter was when things truly broke bad for the Bucks as a combination of ineffectiveness and sloppiness offensively opened up the door for the Heat to run wild and completely swing the game toward their favor.

Holding a 16-point deficit going into the fourth quarter, the Bucks were able to push the Heat to the brink for much of the fourth quarter, even threatening to make it a one possession game within the night’s final minute. But thanks to a key block from Wade and a dagger from three-point shooting extraordinaire Wayne Ellington, the Bucks’ comeback proved to be out of reach in the end.

So without further ado, let’s take a deeper look at what stood out in the Bucks’ loss to the Miami Heat on Friday night.
