Major key for Milwaukee – Remain focused

Tuesday’s game is the schedule equivalent of a banana peel that’s just waiting for the Bucks to step on it.

After a lengthy road trip, the Bucks will undoubtedly be happy and relieved to return home, yet against lesser opposition and in a game so close to the All-Star break, there’s a real risk of complacency setting in for Joe Prunty’s team.

Since Prunty assumed the role of interim head coach, the Bucks have done an excellent job of winning the games they’ve been expected to win, and simply taking care of business. Ugly losses to Minnesota and Miami are less painful in the context of an 8-2 run over a 10-game stretch.

The Bucks are talented enough that just beating the teams they should beat is more than enough to set them up with excellent position in the standings, and Tuesday will be a further test of their ability to execute on that plan.

The Hawks have the second-worst record in the NBA, and even with injuries there should be little for the Bucks to overthink. If the Bucks play professionally and remain focused, they’ll win in a similar manner to October’s game between the two teams in Atlanta.
