The Milwaukee Bucks came away with a hard fought victory in overtime against the Toronto Raptors, first placed team in the East, on Friday night. What were some of the key takeaways from this win?

After leading by a double-digit margin several times throughout the game, the Milwaukee Bucks did their best to pull defeat from the jaws of victory against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.

After scoring just 14 points in the fourth term, the Bucks allowed a buzzer-beating dunk from Jonas Valanciunas to take the contest into overtime.

From there, Milwaukee quickly surrendered a five-point lead as the Raptors looked to put the game to bed early in overtime. But the Bucks rallied behind veteran shooting guard Jason Terry who silenced any critics on Friday night in what was perhaps his best performance of the season thus far, and managed to seal a signature win against a rival Toronto team.

Earlier in the contest, the Bucks had surged ahead thanks to a far superior night on the boards, claiming 14 more rebounds than Toronto over the course of the game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 12 rebounds, to go along with 26 points, six assists, two steals and a block. It was yet another blockbuster night for the Greek Freak as he dominated the Raptors on both ends of the floor to claim the victory over his All Star team mates in DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry.

The win moves Milwaukee to a 33-25 record, eight games above .500, their equal best mark of the season. As the Bucks prepare themselves for a very difficult schedule down the stretch, Friday night’s win might just be the catalyst the team needs in order to finish strong and claim home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs.

So without further ado, let’s dive right into the major takeaways from Friday night’s win over the Raptors.
