Despite getting off to a hot start, the Wisconsin Herd faded and faltered offensively, leading them to fall at the hands of the Raptors 905 on Saturday night.
Firmly on the outside of the playoff picture, the Wisconsin Herd were handed a big blow to their fading playoff chances as they lost to the Raptors 905, 104-83, on Saturday night in Menominee Nation Arena.
The end result was a far cry from their fast and promising start over the reigning G League champions, considering they raced out ahead of the 905 and led by double digits at the 7:51 mark of the first.
Unfortunately, that quickly turned as the Herd only scored one more point from that point on and trailed the 905 15-13 after the first quarter.

The Raptors 905 shook off their early rust first at the start of the second quarter, breaking through to grab a sizeable lead of their own and forced the Herd to regroup after still being stuck in the mud offensively.
That they did as they sprung into action and went on a 16-3 run midway through the period to grab control of the game, which held for the Herd going into halftime.
With Wisconsin leading by 41-36 entering the third quarter, the 905 were the aggressors out of the break as the Herd reverted back to their sloppy and ineffective play to start the second half. Having to dig themselves out of their hole, the Herd were unable to curb their sputtering play throughout the third, considering they were outscored 34-18 in the period by the 905.
Trailing by 11 with 12 minutes to go, the Herd had moments of making things interesting in hopes of rallying back on the 905. Unfortunately, that proved to be fleeting as the 905 poured it on from downtown to swing the result fully and comfortably in their favor well before the final buzzer sounded.
With the loss, the Herd now stand 19-23 on the year and three games back of the sixth-seeded Grand Rapids Drive with eight games to go in their inaugural season.
