Headlined by the remarkable return of Brandon Jennings, the Milwaukee Bucks eventually took care of business against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night to earn their second straight victory.

The Milwaukee Bucks waxed nostalgic all throughout their relatively easy win over the wretched Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night, beating them 121-103.

It took some time to get to that point, though, as the Grizzlies were the aggressors coming out of the gate, thanks to a hot shooting start from the field in the game’s opening few minutes. The Bucks were able to shake off their early rust by going on a 25-9 run from the 7:40 mark of the first quarter onward to lead 32-24 after 12 minutes.

While he managed to make an impact off the bench during his run in the opening period, the second quarter quickly became the Brandon Jennings experience as he flashed and splashed, sparking the team to comfortably control their lead over Memphis (more on his night to come).

Despite the Grizzlies’ effort to close the gap midway throughout the second, the Bucks turned away their pursuit to hold a 64-50 lead heading into halftime.

The Bucks poured it on once play resumed in the third quarter, leading by as much as 19 points on the grit and grind-less Grizzlies. But it didn’t last for long as the Bucks let their foot off of the gas, but only for a few moments considering they controlled a 90-73 lead after three.

What should have been smooth sailing from that point on was anything but for the Bucks as the Grizzlies sprung back to life gradually throughout the first several minutes of the fourth quarter, drawing their deficit down to six at the 6:30 mark of the frame.

That brush with danger led to the Bucks waking to heed the call and counter the Grizzlies’ significant push in the final few minutes of the night, eventually leading the way for their more seldom used players to put on the finishing touches.

So without further ado, let’s dive deeper in what stood out in the Bucks’ win over the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night.
