Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 102-86 win over Orlando Magic
The return of the Prez
Following a two month layoff after suffering a partially torn left quadriceps tendon, Malcolm Brogdon made his long awaited return in the Bucks’ win over the Magic last night.
Brogdon’s return certainly didn’t go unnotcied by any means as he got a rousing ovation from the Bucks faithful inside the BMO Harris Bradley Center upon entering the game at the 4:29 mark of the first quarter.
Unfortunately, Brogdon’s limited showing didn’t provide the same kind of fanfare from that point on as he struggled to finish at the basket before burying his first bucket back on a strong drive to the cup at the one-minute mark of the second quarter. It should also be noted that all but two seconds of Brogdon’s run on the floor for the night came during the first half.
In total, the reigning Rookie of the Year had two points on 1-of-4 shooting from the field, two rebounds, an assist and was a +9 in close to 14 minutes of time.
If you expected to see Brogdon getting his feet wet, then you were left satisfied seeing that he finished his first outing back with no concerns and had no trouble performing all kinds of movement. The big question will be when Brogdon is able to turn that into consistent production but it may be too soon for that kind of thinking, even with taking into account the fact that the playoffs are starting this coming weekend.
