Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 92-87 Game 5 loss to Boston Celtics
Despite their best efforts, the Milwaukee Bucks fell short of taking a pivotal Game 5 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, as they now trail 3-2 in their first round playoff series.
The season for the Milwaukee Bucks is officially on the brink after they were defeated by the Boston Celtics 92-87 Tuesday night in Game 5 of their first round series.
After getting off to a promising start in the opening few minutes of the night, the Bucks were bogged down with offensive ineffectiveness for a good chunk of the first quarter, opening the door for the Celtics to take advantage and leap out ahead of them. The Celtics obliged, but not as considerable as one would assume as they led 23-15 after one.
Despite a brief glimpse of the Bucks coming back to life, the Celtics took complete control of the game throughout the second quarter, leading by as much as 16 at one point in the period.

But the Bucks managed to break their three-minute scoring drought at the end of the second to draw down their deficit to 11 heading into halftime.
The story remained the same for the Bucks at the start of the third as they lacked offensive cohesion in the first few minutes.
As it turned out, the shot in the arm they needed came in the form of Shabazz Muhammad, who helped jumpstart the Bucks to bring them within four of the Celtics at the 3:46 mark of the quarter. The Celtics, however, countered back as they rattled off an 11-4 run from that point on to lead 72-61 after three.
After quickly closing the gap back down to single digits, the Bucks put the Celtics back on their heels throughout the first minutes of the fourth quarter to make it a two possession game on a couple of occasions.
But the Bucks never could get over that hump all throughout the fourth quarter to further threaten the Celtics’ diminishing lead before it was officially out of reach in the waning moments of the night.
So without further ado, let’s dive deeper into the Bucks’ Game 5 loss to the Boston Celtics from Tuesday night.
