Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 97-86 Game 6 win over Boston Celtics
The Milwaukee Bucks have forced a winner-take-all Game 7 after pulling out a 97-86 victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
We’re going to Game Seven, baby! GAME SEVEN! That’s right, the Milwaukee Bucks forced a decisive Game 7 after clinching a 97-86 Game 6 win over the Boston Celtics Thursday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
It was a bit of a sluggish start for both the Bucks and the Celtics offensively as they both struggled to pass the double digit mark several minutes into the first. While it was the Celtics who controlled much of the quarter despite that, the Bucks strung together a 7-0 run in the period’s final two minutes to trail 24-22 after one.
The Celtics looked to put a stop to the Bucks gathering momentum at the beginning of the second quarter, but that proved to be fleeting as the Bucks broke through to take a brief lead at the 6:08 mark of the period.

Although the Celtics answered back moments later to momentarily retake control, the Bucks outscored the Celtics 16-8 from that point on in the quarter to hold a 48-39 lead heading into halftime.
The Bucks quickly added to their lead to start the second half and led by as much as 14 at the 9:37 mark of the third quarter.
But the Celtics stayed resilient and came crawling back by drawing their deficit back down to single digits, eventually tying the game at 61 at the 4:21 mark of the frame. Once again, though, the Bucks rallied from the Celtics’ push as they went on a 13-4 run from that moment on to lead 74-65 after three.
Similar circumstances arose in the fourth quarter as the Celtics came out strong to start the frame and made it a one possession game with 7:13 to go. That was as far as they would come to putting the Bucks on their heels as the Bucks went into fifth gear to bring home the do-or-die victory, eventually extending the series to one final tilt.
So without further ado, let’s take a deeper look behind the Bucks’ Game 6 win over the Boston Celtics Thursday night.
