Throughout his limited rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks, swingman Sterling Brown flashed the kind of role-playing potential that could make him an interesting piece in the team’s long-term plans.

With his first year now in the books, Sterling Brown’s introduction to the NBA ran the gamut of reactions throughout the course of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2017-18 season.

Coming off of four very sound seasons at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, the Bucks agreed to acquire the 23-year-old’s draft rights on the night of the 2017 NBA Draft, which was made official right before the start of last year’s Summer League.

Unlike his fellow rookie counterpart D.J. Wilson, Brown featured in the Bucks’ plans on a more considerable note at periods throughout the year.

It was easy to see the appeal as Brown was initially thought to be a more instant contributor coming out of the draft and his strengths certainly filled a need for the Bucks.

All of the hopeful chatter regarding Brown’s talent and intangibles finally shone through once he broke through into the team’s rotation on a regular basis a few months into the season.

However, the buzz surrounding Brown lasted beyond him having a spot in the team’s rotation by the end of the year, which stood as a frustratingly apt bookend to his rookie season.

So without further ado, let’s look back on Sterling Brown’s rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks, the highs and lows he experienced throughout the year, and where he could move forward from here.
