Hoping to kick on in his second year with the Milwaukee Bucks, injuries held Matthew Dellavedova back throughout the 2017-18 season.

Following an underwhelming first year with the Milwaukee Bucks, Matthew Dellavedova was under a lot of pressure to bounce back in the 2017-18 season.

Unfortunately for him and his team, injuries didn’t afford him such an opportunity. If anything, as Dellavedova reached the halfway mark of his four-year, $38 million contract with the Bucks, his second season proved to be even more disappointing than his first.

Much has changed in Milwaukee since Dellavedova was signed and deemed as a perfect complement for Giannis Antetokounmpo, in a style of play the Bucks have since moved on from.

In many ways, that hasn’t made life any easier for Dellavedova as it has taken him away from the kind of lineups where he has already shown his ability to thrive throughout his career up until this point.

On this occasion, Dellavedova played just 38 regular season games, compiling averages of 4.3 points, 3.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds, while shooting 36.2 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from three-point range.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the ups and downs of Dellavedova’s 2017-18 season and what it may or may not mean for his future.
