Summer focus and final grade

Considering he was in attendance for new Bucks head coach Mike Budeholzer’s introductory press conference last week and has often been seen working out at the team’s practice facility alongside superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, Plumlee’s already hard at work preparing for next season.

That obviously leads to the first point of intrigue surrounding Plumlee’s stay in Milwaukee, which is simply wondering what the length of his two-way contract is, which also applies to fellow Bucks two-way player Xavier Munford.

Unfortunately, there’s not a clear cut or defined answer as the duration of two-way contracts are not public knowledge at this point, aside from a rare few reported exceptions. Adam Johnson over at 2 Ways & 10 Days has an overall estimate of 15 two-year two-way contracts around the league, through the help of league sources.

Whether Plumlee falls among that number is yet to be seen, but it’s fair to ponder, especially since he was brought in midway through the season.

Regardless of the details over his contract length, Plumlee’s place in the league seems firmly rooted in two-way territory at this point in his career. With just two years logged on the NBA level, Plumlee has two years left of being eligible for a two-way contract and the added salary bonuses that come along with that distinction.

Of course, the goal of wanting to eventually carve out a full fledged NBA roster spot remains the mission at hand and should he extend his stint with the organization, hopefully logging more time between Oshkosh and Milwaukee can act as the catalyst for further boosting Plumlee’s career.
