After being taken with the 17th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, we learn more about the newest player for the Milwaukee Bucks, Donte DiVincenzo.

The 2018 NBA Draft has now come and gone and as they only held the 17th overall pick, there certainly was an added level of pressure surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks heading into the night.

This being the third time in four years they’ve selected at that spot, the Bucks’ recent draft history has hardly been anything to write home about at this stage, whether that’s been due to injury occurring, inconsistency or swinging and missing on a pick entirely (i.e. Rashad Vaughn).

Whether that indirectly or directly informed their draft strategy throughout the process remains unclear, but Bucks general manager Jon Horst more or less alluded to finding an immediate, well-rounded contributor in his pre-draft media availability earlier this week.

As we all know now, the player that Horst, his front office staff and new coach Mike Budenholzer felt fit that criteria, among other things, was Villanova product, Donte DiVincenzo.

Of course, DiVincenzo rode the wave following his magnificent performance in this year’s NCAA Championship game into this year’s draft process garnering plenty of buzz, especially at this year’s NBA Draft Combine where he showed out among all facets of the event.

Seeing that he was weighing returning back to school for his senior season or going pro, as evidenced by the fact that he didn’t initially hire an agent upon declaring for the draft, DiVincenzo’s combine performance undoubtedly propelled his decision to keep his name in the draft to make his NBA dream a reality.

Now that he has, let’s learn more about Donte DiVincenzo and the journey he has taken that has now led him to the Bucks organization and the city of Milwaukee as a whole.
