While the identity of the Milwaukee Bucks’ Summer League head coach may still be a mystery, Greek coach Vangelis Angelou will be on the staff.

As details regarding the players who will make the Milwaukee Bucks’ Las Vegas Summer League roster this year continue to emerge, so too do notes on how the coaching staff will look.

Of course, with the reported departure of Sean Sweeney, the Bucks’ coaching staff is now completely changed, unless you look to include Wisconsin Herd head coach Jordan Brady under that grouping. That means a new face is guaranteed to head up Milwaukee’s Summer League effort when they tip-off against the Detroit Pistons on July 6.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer has had assistants Taylor Jenkins and Charles Lee lead Vegas teams during his time in Atlanta, so whether he chooses to have one of those two take on that role again, look to a younger assistant, or take on a more central role for himself all remains to be seen.

According to a report from EuroHoops.net on Sunday morning, experienced Greek coach Vangelis Angelou is one person who’s set to take a spot on that bench anyway.

"“Aris Thessaloniki head coach Vangelis Angelou will be a member of the Milwaukee Bucks staff during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. It will be the first experience for the Greek coach in the staff of an NBA team during the Summer League.”"

While this may seem like a move from out of the left field for the Bucks, adding international coaches to bring in different perspectives during Summer League or training camp has become an increasingly common occurrence in the NBA.

In fact, it’s the second consecutive year the Bucks have taken that particular approach too, as Serbian coach Miodrag Rajkovic joined the staff for Summer League last season.

As outlined by EuroHoops, Angelou is a vastly experienced coach, who has had notable success as an assistant coach in Greece, including winning EuroLeague with Olympiakos in 2012.

"“Angelou has been a coach since 1996. Throughout his career, he’s been a head coach of Anadolu Efes, Aris, and Promitheas, among others. In 2012 he won the EuroLeague and Greek League title with Olympiacos, as an assistant under Dusan Ivkovic.”"

Currently, Angelou is head coach for Aris Thessaloniki, who finished ninth out of 14 teams at the end of the recently completed Greek regular season.
