10-year veteran Anthony Tolliver will soon have to determine the next stop in his nomadic career when this year’s NBA Free Agency begins. We look into why the Milwaukee Bucks could be a viable landing spot for him.

Who is Anthony Tolliver?

When this year’s NBA free agency opens up in less than a week’s time, Anthony Tolliver will once again be faced with the one constant throughout his playing career.

Having played for nine different NBA teams and logged three separate stints in the G League as well as two stops overseas across his 11 years in the professional ranks, Tolliver stands as one of the most well traveled players currently in the league.

And as an unrestricted free agent, Tolliver very well could make that 10 teams, depending on what the market is out there as well as the interest the Detroit Pistons, Tolliver’s most recent team, has in retaining the 33-year-old.

Through all the ups and downs and endless number of miles he’s complied over the globe to just keep his career alive, Tolliver has managed to stick around the NBA throughout it all.

That’s for good reason too, seeing that the former Creighton Bluejay more than adequately lives up to the specialized role he’s carved out and makes his imprint on any team he ends up on.

As a result of all of that, Tolliver’s mentality has become crystallized as he articulated in a piece written by James L. Edwards III of The Athletic from December of last year when going over his career to this point:

"“Obviously, not being drafted, playing overseas, playing in the D-League (now G League), finally breaking through, having some adversity, having some injury stuff and barely making squads, getting back on non-guaranteed contracts … I’ve kind of seen it all at this point,” Tolliver said. “I’ve been on playoff teams, been on bad teams. I’m getting to this point in my career where I’m comfortable with myself. I know exactly who I am as a basketball player, and it allows me to go out there and play free. It may sound crazy, but I’m not out there thinking about pleasing Coach. I’m not out there thinking about pleasing anyone else. It’s all about focusing on the things I do and doing them every single night.”"

So without further ado, let’s consider what Anthony Tolliver offers both on and off the court, look at what he could command on the open market and examine his potential fit with the Milwaukee Bucks.
