Despite an inspired comeback throughout the fourth quarter, the Milwaukee Bucks couldn’t cool off the streaking Denver Nuggets as they fell to their second straight loss in this year’s Summer League.

A rocky third quarter proved to be the difference in the Milwaukee Bucks’ Summer League tilt with the Denver Nuggets Monday night as they lost 90-83 in Cox Pavilion.

After both teams felt their way through the opening few minutes of the game, the Bucks took a hold of a minimal lead before the Nuggets battled back to make the rest of the first quarter a tightly contested one. It was the Nuggets, though, that stood on top after the first as they led 18-17.

The Nuggets added to their control of the lead to start off the second quarter until the Bucks clawed their way back into it by retaking the lead at the 4:40 mark of the period.

More from Bucks News

Trading off basket after basket once again, the Bucks, namely D.J. Wilson, capped off the first half with back-to-back scores in the final 30 seconds to give Milwaukee a 45-44 lead heading into halftime.

But due to getting sloppy with the ball and struggling to find the bottom of the net on the offensive end, the Bucks lost their grasp on the game throughout the third quarter, as they were outscored by the Nuggets 23-13 in the period.

While the Nuggets held a 67-58 lead going into the final frame, the Bucks steadily worked their way back in the game to craft a solid comeback attempt as the quarter wore on. Despite making it a two-point game as late as the 2:03 mark, that would be as far as the Bucks could put the Nuggets on their heels as Denver dispatched the Bucks in what remained in the game from that point on.

So without further ado, let’s break down the Bucks’ loss to the Nuggets by taking a look at what and who stood out throughout the night and much more.
