Milwaukee Bucks reportedly withdraw qualifying offer to two-way player Marshall Plumlee
According to a report and the big man himself, the Milwaukee Bucks have withdrawn the qualifying offer to two-way player Marshall Plumlee, thus making him an unrestricted free agent.
The NBA offseason keeps rolling on and after making some waves with their decision to part ways with Jabari Parker over the weekend, the Milwaukee Bucks have made a more minor bit of housekeeping as it relates to their roster.
First reported by Keith Smith of Real GM, the Bucks have withdrawn the qualifying offer to two-way player Marshall Plumlee, which now makes him an unrestricted free agent.
Plumlee himself confirmed the news in an Instagram post later on in the night.
This move puts an end to Plumlee’s six months as a member of the Bucks organization after they picked him on up the day of the two-way guarantee deadline back on January 15 from his previous spot, the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario.

Over the course of his stay with the Bucks, Plumlee spent the majority of his playing time with the team’s G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd.
In his 13 appearances with the Herd last season, Plumlee put up 11.8 points on 54 percent shooting from the field, 8.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks.
While it was ultimately brief, Plumlee did see the court for 52 minutes over eight appearances when called up by the Bucks throughout the second half of last season as well and posted 1.8 points on 1-of-3 shooting from the field and 2.1 rebounds.
Plumlee joined the Bucks for their trip to Las Vegas during this year’s Summer League and was regularly spotted on the bench alongside the team’s newly implemented coaching staff during broadcasts.
As it stands now, Plumlee’s departure leaves Xavier Munford as the lone player occupying one of the Bucks’ two-way slots, though it should be noted that Munford is still a restricted free agent after the team extended his qualifying offer at the same time as Plumlee’s before the start of this year’s free agency period.
Also of note, the Herd relinquish Plumlee’s player rights now that the Bucks have decided to rescind his qualifying offer, as Adam Johnson of 2 Ways & 10 Days wrote about a few weeks back.
With this development, we’ll soon see the Bucks scour free agency to bring in another player with their available two-way contract. Of course, the first name that first comes to mind is Christian Wood, who performed exceptionally well with the Bucks in Vegas over the last week and qualifies for the distinction as he only has two years of NBA service under his belt.
(UPDATE: Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel relayed Monday night that of the NBA teams interested in Wood, the Bucks are not among them.)
