Looking to make an immediate impact with the Milwaukee Bucks, we identify five goals rookie Donte DiVincenzo ought to aim toward achieving for the 2018-19 NBA season.

Entering his rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks, Donte DiVincenzo is intent on hitting the ground running in some shape or form with his new squad.

The reasoning behind why the Bucks were compelled to select him with the 17th overall pick in this year’s draft have been established in recent months, despite the polarized feelings that still linger from Bucks fans after the fact.

Part of the appeal that the Bucks saw out of DiVincenzo upon his entry into the draft was the competitive and gritty nature he regularly exudes in his play as well as the ready-made qualities he seemingly possesses.

Bucks general manager Jon Horst gave voice to all of that and more on the night of the draft in late June:

"“We talk about contributing right away and there’s different ways to do that. There’s on the floor and there’s off the floor. We believe that Donte with his competitiveness, his athleticism and his skill-set will find a way to get on the floor and contribute. We know for sure that he’s going to push out guys in practice, that he’s going to contribute to culture in the locker room and that he’s going to contribute to the overall culture here in the organization."

Of course, it’s one thing for the powers that be to see and have those hopes in DiVincenzo and for him to live up to said hopes.

Despite the poise and fearlessness that he was often lauded for throughout his time at the University of Villanova, adapting to the various lifestyle changes, the jump in play and schematic adjustments that come with entering the NBA can rattle even the most pro-ready prospect such as DiVincenzo projects to be.
