Milwaukee Bucks: 5 goals for Malcolm Brogdon in 2018-19 season
Going into a pivotal third season with the Milwaukee Bucks, we run through five goals combo guard Malcolm Brogdon can look to attain during the 2018-19 NBA season.
It can’t be overstated just how significant the Milwaukee Bucks hitting on the pick that became Malcolm Brogdon in the 2016 NBA Draft is to their foundation as its currently constructed.
In the multiple selections the Bucks have made through the draft in the post-Giannis Antetokounmpo era, a list that only grows more ominous by the day, the second round steal Brogdon stands as has become a well-cited example regarding the caliber of players teams can periodically find that deep in the draft in recent memory (the same goes for Khris Middleton).
That most notably was recognized when Brogdon stunningly took home the 2016-17 NBA Rookie of the Year award following the end of that season, which marked the first rookie picked in the second round of the NBA Draft to do so.

Beyond the importance he poses to the Bucks and for older rookie prospects making the jump to the NBA, Brogdon has been determined to improve on the standard he set for himself during his rookie campaign.
That was evident throughout Brogdon’s play last season and if not for a partially torn quadriceps tendon that significantly impacted his availability during the second half of the year, it could have changed some of the Bucks’ fortunes in the post-Jason Kidd firing era.
On the topic of his injury, Brogdon expounded on how much that changed his approach to building up his fitness and overall strength in his lower body in the offseason at this year’s Bucks Media Day:
"“When I came back from that injury, I feel like I got back to where I was before, and now I feel like I’ve gotten better. I’ve progressed even further. I feel like it was important to get back to that baseline as far as health goes, and now I was able to really build on that this summer and continue to get better, continue to get healthier and stronger. For me, this summer, a lot of it was about making sure my legs were strong. I was always told when I first got in the league, your legs will go before anything else, because it’s such a long season and it can be very rigorous. I didn’t really heed that advice, I didn’t really lift with my legs, but now this summer that injury really put stuff in perspective.”"
Hopefully, that change in building up his body and a continued clean bill of health all throughout Brogdon’s third season in Milwaukee will lead to the improvements he’s made since entering the league taking up a big shine of the spotlight this time around.
So without further ado, let’s dig into how Malcolm Brogdon can impact the Bucks and assign five goals for him to hit throughout the 2018-19 NBA season.
