Ringing in the 2019 portion of their regular season, the Milwaukee Bucks absolutely pasted the Detroit Pistons en route to a 121-98 victory at Fiserv Forum.

Just as they have grown to do throughout the latter months of 2018, the Milwaukee Bucks comfortably dismantled the Detroit Pistons for a 121-98 blowout victory on New Year’s Day Tuesday night.

The first quarter was a thoroughly contested one between the Bucks and the Pistons, one that saw a few lead changes. But a 10-0 run by the Bucks over the final three minutes of the period gave them a 35-27 edge after one.

That stretch perfectly set the tone for the second quarter and beyond, where the Bucks reinforced their lead and permanently brought it up to double digits at the 7:37 mark of the frame.

Milwaukee held firm in that regard as they carried a 68-52 lead heading into halftime.

Without plenty of fireworks compared to the first half, the Bucks kept chugging away and brought their control of the game up to the 20-point range just a handful of minutes into the third quarter.

Despite a brief slip in keeping up that scoring disparity, the Bucks held a 92-73 lead through three.

The Bucks fully blew open the doors mere minutes into the final frame and held their biggest lead of the night (28) at multiple points throughout the fourth. For the final three minutes and change, head coach Mike Budenholzer entrusted his seldom used players to put on the finishing touches of their 25th win and their seventh victory decided by 20 points or more this season.

So without further ado, let’s dig into what stood out in the Bucks’ win over the Detroit Pistons, starting with the incredible three-point shooting performance from one Brook Lopez.
