With the Milwaukee Bucks hit by the brutal news that Malcolm Brogdon is set to miss six-to-eight weeks due to injury, there are many key questions in need of answers.

The Milwaukee Bucks have been blessed with a relatively healthy roster throughout the 2018-19 season, a factor that has undoubtedly helped them to put together such a strong campaign, but nobody could claim they’ve been the benefactors of good luck when it comes to the timing of the injuries they have had to deal with.

A glut of recent backcourt injuries had left the Bucks a little stretched in that department as the regular season nears its end, but that situation got significantly worse on Saturday night with the news that Malcolm Brogdon is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

It was well documented that Brogdon had been dealing with soreness in his foot and heel in recent weeks, and it seemed like the latest flare-up in that department was to blame when he left Friday’s win over the Miami Heat in the first half.

Unfortunately, the full and more serious extent of that injury later became clear as an MRI revealed that Brogdon had suffered a minor plantar fascia tear in his right foot.

The Bucks’ official statement announcing the injury ruled Brogdon out indefinitely, although a subsequent report from Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews of ESPN deemed his recovery timeline to be six-to-eight weeks, and noted Milwaukee’s optimism that he could come back on the lower end of that spectrum.

Still, even that best case scenario would leave the Bucks without one of their key contributors for the remainder of the regular season, the first round of the playoffs, and much of the second round too.

That creates a level of uncertainty and adversity that hasn’t been common for the Bucks this year, and as a result, they will have a number of key questions to work through over the next few weeks.

To get a head-start on that process, let’s take a closer look at some of the key questions surrounding both the Bucks and Brogdon, individually, in light of Saturday’s injury news.
