On the second night of a back-to-back, the Milwaukee Bucks outlasted the Brooklyn Nets Monday night to notch their 58th win of the season.

The Milwaukee Bucks got even closer to locking down the one seed in the East Monday night with their 131-121 win over the playoff hopeful Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.

Like they did Sunday morning, the Bucks came out of the gate firing on all cylinders as they held a 20-point lead with roughly three minutes to go in the opening frame. The Nets managed to show some signs of life shortly thereafter, but the Bucks held firm control with a 35-20 advantage at the end of one.

And like the previous game, the Bucks fell down to Earth hard in the second quarter as the Nets threw a wrench in their offense by favoring some zone defense.

After the Nets broke through with their first lead of the night at the 5:53 mark in the period, however, the Bucks regained control from that point on in the first half and entered halftime with a 59-54 edge.

Brooklyn continued their comeback charge immediately into the second half and the Bucks fought hard to conjure up answers to foil their pursuit.

Despite the Nets’ advances, the Bucks continued to hold their grasp of the game with a 91-89 lead through three.

It was in the fourth quarter when Milwaukee fully rid themselves of the Nets, thanks to superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo finally laying his imprint on the game as well as key reserves coming through in the clutch. The end result was a 40-point fourth quarter and yet another double-digit victory, placing the Bucks in some rarefied air in that department.

So without further ado, let’s break down what stood out in the Bucks’ win over the Brooklyn Nets from Monday night, starting with looking at the play of Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
