The wait is nearly over as the Milwaukee Bucks’ Eastern Conference Finals showdown with the Toronto Raptors is set to get underway Wednesday night at Fiserv Forum.

It’s been a long, arduous 18 years since the last time the Bucks reached this point in the season and even longer since they have rolled out a team sporting the cohesion and consistency of this year’s Bucks group.

The Raptors, meanwhile, have been a fixture of regular season success throughout the decade and pose an even greater threat to potentially reach their first NBA Finals as a franchise after previously reaching this point back in 2016, their first Conference Finals trip.

Now it’s only fitting that all roads in the East lead to Milwaukee and Toronto after they both asserted themselves as the two best teams in the NBA by record this season.

Of course, the outcome of who ends up representing the conference and booking a trip to the NBA Finals could determine the long-term future of either or both franchises. It’s only an extension to the anticipation and spectacle that came before each and every matchup both teams had throughout the regular season.

And it’s important to note that both teams haven’t played against one another since they made big acquisitions at this year’s trade deadline, with the Bucks picking up sharpshooting forward Nikola Mirotic and the Raptors dealing for veteran big man Marc Gasol.
