Brought on in advance of the Milwaukee Bucks’ playoff push, veteran big man Pau Gasol‘s stay in the Cream City was almost entirely spent on the sidelines as a result of a season-ending injury.

Going into the final six weeks of their highly successful regular season campaign, the Milwaukee Bucks had loaded up and bolstered their roster ahead of their looming playoff run.

They had made the headlining move on the day of this season’s trade deadline in the form of sharpshooting forward Nikola Mirotic to keep up with the other action fellow contenders in the East made in the lead up to the deadline.

With an already deep roster that, save for a rare few, saw regular action on a nightly basis, the Bucks could have easily been content with the team they had built into what ended up being the best team by record.

As it turns out, however, the Bucks couldn’t pass up a chance to add one of the most decorated veterans and pioneers of the game from an international sense when Pau Gasol had negotiated a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs.

Time was certainly of the essence to add Gasol on the roster as his eligibility to play in this year’s playoffs was at risk if the string of moves had not been cleared by the league office ahead of the buyout deadline occurring, which ended up not being complicated.

But as the saying goes regarding best laid plans, Gasol’s stint in Milwaukee was marred by both injury and ineffectiveness before a season-ending surgery to repair a stress fracture in the Spaniard’s left foot put him on the shelf completely.

So without further ado, let’s go through Pau Gasol’s brief, injury riddled stay with the Milwaukee Bucks and explore whether we have seen the last of the future Hall of Famer.
