With free agency about to get under way, there’s only one thing the Milwaukee Bucks should be concerned about: bringing their team back for next season.
NBA free agency is about to kick off. The entire landscape of the NBA could look dramatically different when the dust settles in a few weeks, and the Milwaukee Bucks are by no means an exception.
The title picture appears to be the most uncertain it has been in several years. With Golden State’s dynasty possibly coming to an end due to injuries and their roster being up in the air, many will be vying to position themselves to contend next season.

The Bucks will certainly hope to be one of those teams. After winning the most games in the NBA during the regular season, and winning 10 of their first 11 postseason games, the Bucks will feel they enter this summer as one of, if not, the favorites to win the NBA title next year.
Despite their incredible season, however, there’s been much debate among Bucks fans about what Milwaukee should do this summer.
Specifically, fans have been debating whether running the team back, as currently constructed, is the right move for the franchise.
Milwaukee enters this free agency period at a crossroads. Three of their key starters from last season in Malcolm Brogdon, Brook Lopez, and Khris Middleton, are free agents. All three are sure to be among the most highly sought after talents on the market, and will likely land very lucrative long-term contracts.
With Milwaukee’s cap space situation being difficult to navigate for the foreseeable future, there’s real concern among many that committing big money to these three players will be a mistake. Doing so, will essentially lock the Bucks into this roster for the next 3-4 years.
What happens if those contracts backfire? Are we sure this team was as good as we thought it was given that Toronto came back from a 2-0 deficit in the Eastern Conference Finals to win the next four games and the series? Are we sure someone like Khris Middleton is actually worth a max contract?
Despite the concerns that people have, however, there should be no doubt: the Milwaukee Bucks should absolutely run their team back for next season.
