While they were down plenty of star power and core pieces, the Milwaukee Bucks kicked off their preseason with a commanding win over the Chicago Bulls Monday night.

The Milwaukee Bucks rung in the start to this year’s preseason slate with a 122-112 win over the Chicago Bulls Monday night at the United Center.

Down many of their star players from reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton to veteran contributors such as George Hill and Kyle Korver, the Bucks rolled out a very diminished squad going into the preseason meeting with their I-94 rival.

However, that didn’t stop them from taking early control of the proceedings not long after opening tip, even as the Bulls shook off their early rust as the first quarter wore on.

With the Bucks clinging to a one-point lead going into the second period, Chicago broke through to briefly take control of the tilt.

The Bucks, though, managed to weather the storm without having to regroup to retake the lead and they wouldn’t relinquish at any other point in the night, even as the Bulls didn’t exactly go away.

A strong scoring burst from third-year wing Sterling Brown and others gave the Bucks their biggest lead of the night (16) at the 4:43 mark of the third quarter. Chicago eventually managed to whittle down their double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter, but the Bucks withstood the late comeback push the Bulls compiled to finish out the game and secure their first preseason victory.

So without further ado, let’s dive into what stood out in the Bucks’ preseason win over the Bulls Monday, starting with the performance of the Lopez twins.
