The Milwaukee Bucks withstood a meltdown late to hold on against a resilient Oklahoma City Thunder squad and finish out their four-game road trip on a high note.

Ending their road rip out West, the Milwaukee Bucks held on to survive a 121-119 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena Sunday night.

Frustration set in early for the Bucks as they failed to take advantage of a porous shooting start for the Thunder. Before long, the Bucks’ slight control of the game slipped away from their fingers as Oklahoma City closed the first quarter out with an 11-0 run in the final two minutes of the period to hold a 24-21 edge.

The Bucks quickly responded with a strong start to the second quarter and eventually retook control of the contest midway through the period.

But Oklahoma City quickly regrouped and made that lead a shortlived one for the Bucks, and the Thunder held court to take a 56-50 lead into the halftime break.

Fortunately, through the help of their superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks came alive to once again regain control of the lead and continued to fend off the Thunder throughout the third quarter.

Taking a 87-80 advantage into the final frame, Milwaukee continued their push into the fourth and held their biggest lead of the night at 100-87 with 6:36 left. Oklahoma City didn’t back down by any means and continued to show plenty of heart by cutting into the double-digit deficit, forcing the Bucks to respond and rely on the likes of Antetokounmpo and Eric Bledsoe to steer them towards victory.

That appeared to be in the case in the final minutes before the Bucks suffered an incredible late-game meltdown, leading to the Thunder knotting things up at 114 a piece with 33 seconds to go following a ridiculous triple from veteran Danilo Gallinari. But a critical three from Brook Lopez and free throws from both Bledsoe as well as George Hill over the final 30 seconds helped save the day for the Bucks in the end and wrap up their road swing on a reassuring note.

So without further ado, let’s dig into what stood out in the Bucks’ win over the Oklahoma City Thunder from Sunday night.
