It didn’t take long for the Herd to regain full control of the game into the second quarter as they took a double-digit lead over the BayHawks nearly four minutes into the period.

Erie clawed their way into their deficit for a four-minute stretch from that point on, but the Herd blew open the game to take a 66-50 edge into halftime.

Wisconsin didn’t rest on their laurels to start the second half and held their biggest lead of the night at the 10:07 mark in the third period at 78-50. And despite some brief push back from Erie, the Herd were able to maintain their big advantage all throughout the period as they led the BayHawks 103-82 through three.

And there were no surprises throughout the fourth quarter as the Herd were able to close out the BayHawks and secure their eighth victory of the season well before the final buzzer sounded.

The Herd were led by another fantastic performance from second-year guard Jaylen Adams, who finished with 27 points on 21 shots (5-for-10 from three), nine assists, four rebounds, two steals as well as two turnovers and was a +26 in over 30 minutes of action.

Adams was able to pull the strings for the Herd’s offense between his marksmanship from three-point range and being able to deliver crisp passes to his teammates time and time again while posting a season-low pair of miscues in that regard.

Rayjon Tucker followed Adams by putting up 22 points on 16 shots (2-for-4 from three, 2-for-2 from the free throw line), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a turnover to continue his hot start to the 2019-20 G League season.

Milwaukee Bucks big man Dragan Bender logged his first assignment to the Herd in a couple of weeks and looked good without showing any rust as he posted 19 points on 17 shots (3-for-7 from deep, 1-for-1 from the foul line), 11 boards, six assists, three blocks as well as three turnovers and was a whopping +38 in 30 minutes of time.

Bender looked more comfortable operating from the high post to connect passes to his teammates from the high post and produced a season-high six assists in that regard. And his ability to clean up his own misses as well as the rest of Herd players gave the squad a huge advantage on the margins as the Herd collected 21 offensive rebounds and manufactured a season-high 32 second chance points on the night.
