As the Milwaukee Bucks keep winning, they draw ever nearer to some of the most impressive winning streaks of the NBA in the 2010s.

The Milwaukee Bucks are currently the owners of the NBA’s best record, and they’re on a roll that could see them move ever closer to some of the high marks set by teams around the league over the course of the last decade.

On Sunday, I took a closer look at how the Bucks’ current run of wins tracks against their own franchise history, and of course since then Milwaukee has added a 12th consecutive victory with a demolition of the Knicks on Monday night.

What’s also worth considering, though, particularly as we near the end of the decade, is how Milwaukee’s current streak stacks up against the most impressive runs of all NBA teams throughout the 2010s.

As things stand, the Bucks’ 12-game run is essentially back in the pack and lost in the wider shuffle of NBA streaks over the past decade, with their 12-game run tied for the 22nd best stretch over that span.

What a closer look at the streaks currently ranking ahead of the Bucks reveals, though, is that Milwaukee could quickly find themselves climbing that list and potentially even finishing out the decade on an emphatic note worth remembering.

Milwaukee is a long way off the best two runs of the decade, as the Golden State Warriors’ 28 win run, and the Miami Heat’s 27-win stretch take pride of place in second and third in the all-time discussion of spells of invincibility.

Behind those two, though, is the San Antonio Spurs with a 19-win streak. The Bucks would have to set a new franchise record to surpass that mark, but as I explored on Monday, that’s by no means impossible given the games facing Milwaukee over the course of the next month.

With just three more wins, and the Pistons, Clippers, and Magic are the next three on the schedule, the Bucks could move into the top-10 longest win streaks of the decade. By getting to 16 wins in a row, the Bucks’ would match the Ersan Ilyasova fueled run of the 76ers in 2018, and tie the longest streak for any team over the course of the last two-and-a-half years.

In short, by simply taking care of business, taking each game as it comes, and racking up their wins one by one, it won’t take much for the noise and attention surrounding Milwaukee’s current run to gain even more momentum and attention over the next week or so.

Either way, for as much as Bucks fans have been spoiled by the exploits of Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the rest of Mike Budenholzer’s squad over the past year and a half, given they were on the wrong end of a 13-game losing streak as recently as 2013, every additional win on this current run is certainly worthy of celebration.
