Currently on a red-hot run of form, Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton is making a strong case for his second consecutive All-Star appearance.

As the Milwaukee Bucks are enjoying another sensational season, the fantastic play of Khris Middleton has been a real key to the team’s success to this point in the year.

With Middleton’s play heating up ahead of the All-Star break, the forward will likely find himself playing in the league’s star-studded showcase for the second consecutive year too.

More from Bucks News

When Middleton and the Bucks came to terms on a lucrative five-year, $178 million deal for him to return to Milwaukee this offseason, some were puzzled. Despite the team having so much success, the forward slightly downgraded on the offensive end from the previous year but had still been chosen as an All-Star reserve.

However, Middleton has come out and silenced any critics with his play, as the Bucks are off to an even better start than they were last season. The 28-year-old has been a monstrous threat on the offensive end, averaging 19.5 points per game on 50 percent field goal shooting and 42.3 percent from behind the arc this season in 38 games.

Middleton’s play has only elevated as the season has progressed, putting up unreal shooting numbers in his last six games. Averaging 23.5 points per contest while hitting 67.1 percent of his field goals and an astounding 65.8 percent of his three-point shots. Khris has been stellar as the Bucks have won every game in that frame by an average of 17.6 points.

This fantastic play from Middleton is precisely what Milwaukee needs as their quest for a championship is at its highest peak in recent decades. Performing as the perfect second fiddle to reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Middleton’s recent play is going to help the Bucks’ already dominant offense grow stronger as the postseason inches closer every day.

There have often been questions over whether Middleton has what it takes to be the second best player on a championship winning team. Those questions will never be answered definitively until the Bucks, hopefully, get over the line and achieve that feat. But Middleton’s recent play is a reminder that, at his best, there’s little doubt that not only is he good enough, but that he also meshes perfectly alongside Giannis.

With that being said, Khris Middleton has been proving on a nightly basis that he was deserving of the massive contract he agreed to, and that he’s so integral to the Bucks that they couldn’t have afforded the risk of an alternative scenario where he ended up walking away.

Quiet Bucks' trade deadline is very likely. dark. Next

Being the second-best player on the best team throughout the entire association and putting up numbers like he has been nightly, the question should not be if Khris Middleton is an All-Star this year, but if on merit he should really have been an All-Star starter.
