Bucks G League: Wisconsin Herd headline midseason All-NBA G League teams
As the Wisconsin Herd keep their hold of the best record in the G League this year, their standout stars throughout the year have been named to the All-NBA G League midseason team.
With the All-Star break coming up, the Wisconsin Herd are on track to hold the best record in the G League, as they have for the vast majority of the season. And they recently have been recognized for the kind of run they’ve had so far.
As the G League announced early Monday afternoon, the Herd were well represented in this year’s All-NBA G League midseason team that was highlighted by past and current standout stars such as Jaylen Adams, Frank Mason III and Rayjon Tucker.

Starting with Adams, the second-year guard has been on an incredible tear as seen by his 37-point performance from the Herd’s 127-119 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants that helped them break up their three-game losing slump.
That includes not just winning G League Player of the Week honors, but being named G League Player of the Month for January, where he joined Herd head coach Chase Buford in being recognized for the team’s 8-2 run throughout the month.
Adams is now up to averaging 22.2 points on .497/.410/.806 shooting splits, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals through his 28 appearances on the season. And if he keeps up his recent play, it’s easy to envision a call-up coming to the sharpshooting guard from St. Bonaventure University.
While injuries have slowed down Mason for extended stretches throughout the year, the two-way player has been magnificent when on the floor and has taken his game to new heights by shoring up his weaknesses. The Kansas product leads all two-way players in scoring 24.2 points on .477/.448/.792 splits, 5.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds across his 16 appearances for Buford and co.
Last but certainly not least, Tucker made quite the impression during his brief time with the Herd. Even after his call-up to the Utah Jazz in late December, Tucker has continued to champion his previous squad where he built up great camaraderie with his teammates and a following from the Fox Valley, who celebrated the start of his NBA career.
Over his 16 appearances in Oshkosh, Tucker averaged 23.3 points on a .492/.386/.690 slash line, along with 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 33.8 minutes per tilt.
With Buford overseeing and organizing the blueprint for the Herd’s success though all of the challenges that life in the G League presents, it is an incredible turn of fortune for the Bucks’ affiliate. And that includes enduring through injuries as well as losing the likes of Tucker and now former Bucks player, Dragan Bender, who was often put on assignment to Oshkosh and flourished under Buford and his staff’s watch.
Now with two more games left for the Herd before they go on break for All-Star, they’ll look to continue doing what they have done all season long as that first playoff berth for the franchise inches ever closer.
