Veteran point guard George Hill has stood as a worthy Sixth Man for the Milwaukee Bucks all season long, but he faces stiff competition around the league to potentially qualify for the award.
For a Milwaukee Bucks team that gets contributions deep across their roster, it’s perhaps the work of veteran point guard George Hill that may make him the most fitting Sixth Man of the Year candidate from the off the bench.
Hill’s influence from the Bucks’ second unit has been an outward feature and he’s long been the team’s security blanket, steering the ship when under pressure to become one of head coach Mike Budenholzer’s dependable options available to him.

And he’s been able to transfer his blistering efficiency from last year’s playoff run into this season where he’s averaging 9.7 points on .541/.511/.821 splits, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists across his 44 appearances so far.
Not only does that 51.1 3-point percentage lead the league, but Hill holds the third-highest raw plus-minus (219) of players coming off the bench this season.
The Bucks’ incredible run of success and chemistry has certainly elevated Hill’s profile and production, but the 33-year-old has more than made his mark on both ends of the floor for Budenholzer and co. Whether that will ultimately lead to Hill being considered for this season’s Sixth Man of the Year remains to be seen, but playing such a vital role for the league’s best team certainly won’t hurt his case in that regard.
So without further ado, let’s take a look around the league and evaluate some of the other worthy rivals for this year’s Sixth Man of the Year award.
